Equipping your student with proven and effective strategies, tactics, and techniques.
Teaching your student how to BEAT THE TESTS.
Most students come to us and need general help with the entire test – both ACT and SAT. For these students, we recommend a minimum of 4 one-hour, one-on-one coaching sessions. This PHASE 1 teaching applies to both the SAT and ACT and examples will come from both tests. This gives a firm foundation to the strategies and tactics and techniques that we use to BEAT THE TEST. Phase 2 covers specific needs of each student and advanced topics.
Please click on the PHASE Descriptions below to learn more.
However, some students choose to continue to schedule sessions. Some reasons for continuing include:
These can be scheduled at whatever frequency is needed. We are flexible and all private sessions are schedule for one hour and are scheduled on this website on a first come first served basis.
My Road to College began as a dream to help others achieve what we have with our own kids—affordable College at some of the best schools in the nation.
As a professional educator for over 27 years, Debbie researched to find a program to help her own children prepare for college tests to earn college scholarships. That research led her to a system developed by Dr. Kuni Michael Beasley. His program was developed over 30 years ago and continues to help students to be prepared, packaged and positioned for College success and to have what it takes to compete for the best scholarships and top colleges in the country.
As a parent, she saw immediate results in own her children as they began to use the program. She followed the program with great success.
With that success, she eventually joined Dr. Beasley’s staff to learn the ins and outs of the program. She has worked closely with Dr. Beasley for 10 years. And now, with his permission and blessing, she is venturing out to start this new model for delivering his strategies, tools and techniques to others.
Dr. Beasley is a retired Army officer, former College Professor for 16 years, and school Administrator/Dean for over twenty years. He worked in corporate positions at the Federal Reserve Bank and Caltex Petroleum Corporation before pursuing his dream to coach high school football. His team won the AAA State Championship in 1994.
Dr. Beasley started this program in a rented Sunday school room in Duncanville, Texas (a suburb of Dallas) in 1996 with seven students – one became an MD and two earned their Ph.D.s. Over the years, the program grew to encompass fifteen College Prep Academies from Springfield, MA, to Hot Springs, AR, to Palm Springs, CA. Due to the tremendous success he had with his own students, he was asked to provide a College Preparation program to the general public in 2011. He learned early how to seek college opportunities. He started college at 16 with 11 full scholarship offers. He completed 22 years of college and paid for only one semester, using scholarships, grants, waivers, entitlements, exemptions, and dozens of little known ways to reduce his college costs.
He has helped thousands of students become better prepared for college, better packaged for admissions, and better positioned to receive the top scholarships and the most funding. Dr. B (as he is affectionately called) wrote the curriculum that we are teaching and is an invaluable asset to our team.
We place huge value on strong relationships and have seen the benefit they bring to our business. Customer feedback is vital in helping us to get it right.
My daughter took the Foundations Class and the Beat the ACT class. Both were very helpful in preparing my daughter. She did improve her ACT score by 3 points and will keep practicing using the strategies Debbie taught her as she plans on taking it again. We highly recommend these courses and Debbie is an outstanding teacher.
Debbie is an amazing educator and trainer! She is well-prepared, patient, and clearly communicates effective test-taking strategies. Additionally, she coached my son as he prepared essays for admittance to a service academy and a full-ride scholarship. My daughter has taken her introductory Foundations class and found it extremely beneficial in preparing for the ACT/SAT. I highly recommend her and we will definitely use her services again!
I jumped from a 1420 to a 1560 on the SAT using only the online Foundations Course from My Road to College.
My son took Debbie’s class after taking the PSAT. He said it was super helpful and that we had been going about it all wrong, especially in regards to the reading section. When we received his first SAT scores, his score had jumped 140 points from the PSAT. He wanted to raise his reading score, so we did a one-on-one refresher with Debbie and using her tips and strategies, his score increased by 80 points! We are so glad we found her!

The courses taught during our private sessions are tailored to the needs of the student, however, the base material is most appropriate for students 6th grade and up.
We train 6th graders who want to compete for Duke TIP and other similar competitions.
The bottom line - The earlier, the better.
Students who take the test earlier will have more time to put the strategies, tactics, and techniques into practice and continue to improve their scores. Our training is similar to learning to play an instrument or play a sport, the more time you have to practice the right way, the better your student’s score will be.
There are many programs out there. Some good and some not so good. Our courses are designed to help students BEAT TJE TEST!
We do not re-teach high school. In fact, we have had 7th graders who have not even had high school courses score 32 and higher on the ACT and >680 component scores on the SAT because they learned the techniques and put them into practice.
We have also priced our programs to give you an outstanding program that is affordable and effective
While we do have online courses, we do not sell these anymore. We found that personal one on one interaction yields better results than having a student trying to stay focused on an online video.
